JoePrairie: I know you must be jacked getting 2 bad ones in a row. I would be. I also have a P700 igniter coming as I have had good luck with the one on my P650 (has been working for 8 months or so now).

Wait til you calm down and call them again....you've still got your stock part, so no rush eh? Very aggravating, though.

I dont no why somtimes they work on some machines and not others? I thought hard about getting one but went with the dg5 instead because of the problems. It was the best money I ever spent. I even thinking about the vdi box but it dont look like it is going to happen now. I hope they take care of you.

Thanks New BF!

KawieYowee,
Yes I still have my OEM cdi, however they still have had my $250 for over a month now and have not given me anything of value for it. I did not expect to pay that kind of money to be part of their R&D team. That is where the frustration lies.

Like so many on here I have very pleased with most of the people at Dyna. Raymond and Terry have been very polite and have helped as much as they can, however the help they can give has been limited by the companies inabillity to meet demand. I had only one negative experience with another person on the phone who was short to the point of being rude. I will try one more unit before I throw up my hands in defeat. I am hoping the third time is the charm.

I think I will follow the path you did and steer clear of the Dyna, the DG5 seems to hold up.

I got my new one two days ago. I installed it last night, lit right off....sounded immediately like it runs better..

Can't wait to go out and try it....with the stock unit in the fenderbag.....

Howdy guys, thought I would chime in on this CDI thing. Since I am waiting on my 3rd CDI now from DYNA.

Ordered my first on Jan 14th and shipped it back, caused pinging and ran poorly.

Recieved replacement on feb 28th. Installed it and the bike only ran on one cylinder.

Shipped it back out to DYNA on march 4th.

Im beginning to lose faith in this company. I understand you have problems with production and stuff but please...

I keep wondering if I should have bought a dg5 or HL module. But then realize if I ever went in for warranty work I would be screwed.

I've had mine a couple of times at the dealer and they dont even know I have a dg5 or what it is anyway. I let the service tech ride it and he thinks Its all stock and I got lucky and just got a fast one. You just wire it under the harness tape and wrap some more tape. I dont know if you could hide the HL module like the dg5. I saw one on a prairie this weekend and it is way bigger than my dg5. It was all black with no light to tell if its on and you have to buy your own switch to turn it off. He used a clunky auto switch. It looked cheap and the module did to. Some people have big problems with the dyna and other dont. Maybe you could find a working good used one on ebay. Whatever you get be careful at first. I almost flipped my brute over first time out with the dg5. I couldnt beleive the power change.

I took my replacement Dyna out for a test this weekend and logged a little over 60 miles without any problems. Am hoping I got a good one this time. When it's working right it's really nice. Good luck to you guys!
