Default spark plug gap on a 700p

hi all
i was out in my shop this morning checking out my 700p.
i thought i would check the plugs and see how they looked.
i took the front one out and it was black but not wet so i checked the gap and it was barly .028
now the manual says between .028 and .032 so i regaped it to .032 and pulled the rear one and it was the same so i regaped it also.
i going to go for a ride right now so i will know how the change worked when i get back.
in my driveway it feels as good or better.
my question is with a wider gap wouldent it give it a fatter spark giveing you a better burn and more power.
i will check the plugs again when i get home and see how they look then.
thanks ken.

Default spark plug gap on a 700p

well i just got back from a ride and i think it runs better with the wider gap so tomorow i will take the plugs out and see what they look like.
i cant do it now because i have to go to work but tomorow i will see how they look and i will post the results.

Default spark plug gap on a 700p

well i have put about 150 miles on my quad since i last posted on this thread.
and i think that making the gap wider to .032 that it runs better and is quicker off the line and gets the rpm's up alot faster.
i think it was worth regaping my plugs and im very happy with the results.
if anyone else has done this let me know if you found the same thing or if its just my imajenation.
thanks ken.
