Brute Blew Up
#1
my buddy sank his Brute in a mud hole, the front left went in the deepest, the pipe and rear of the quad were out of it. About 5 minutes after we pulled him out the Brute began to backfire and miss real bad, eventually it died and wouldn't start. He took it in to the dealer and they said it had mud in the motor. $2100 to fix it. Where do you think the mud entered? His air box was dry and it definitly didnt come in the tailpipe. Crankcase vent maybe?

If it didn't go in the airbox or the exhaust my only guess would be that the front head pipe wasn't tight on the front head and water leaked through. Either that or something leaked through something that was loose on the intake. The dealer should be able to tell you if he's working on it.

It would have to be a factory defect of some kind...i sank my brute up to the handle bars last night...i took a dive off the back of it and she cut off and was sunk to the bottom with jus the bars and front rack showing...luckily it didnt get into the air box but definitely fed up the exhaust...we winched her out with my buddy's grizz then stood her up on her tail to let the water run out and she fired back up after about a minute of cranking...belts were slipping due to the water and she was missing for a bit but she cleared up and seems to be running fine...for your friends to have blown up from that little bit while mine was totally sunk something must have been defective...just my .02

What was I thinkin! Where else would one of the MuddyF......., well, you be. LOL
Can't wait to start hitting Haspin again (our machines don't do as good in muddy months as yours), as long as the rent-a-cops don't come back as rumored. And night riding. But hey, can't have your cake and eat it to huh? My crew will definately be there for the April Fools bash.

cool man, we're giving away $5000 in prize money April 2nd, $1000 to the ATV class, $1000 to rails and $3000 to the truck class. The ProArena truck drivers are all going to be there, should be some good racing! I know they are bringing in people to watch for helmet violations and night riding, the only question is will they be like the ones last year. I hope they learned a lesson and will hire some regular Joe's instead of off-duty porcupine quills. if your machine is quiet, you can night ride with us....believe me, they aren't going to go where we go!

We night rode there all last year without a problem. We stay in the back tho as you mention sometimes. Problem is most of our bike are piped, not real loud like some, but not as quite as stock either. Im sure it won't be a problem. We usually camp by the shoe tree so we don't even have to go close to the front at night.

and they cant say anything if your back in the woods and somebody conveniently breaks down. it usually takes us til 3AM to get them out If you have a Kaw with you, blame it on the belt light indicator making it go into "limp mode", and just when you thought you'd never get out, a guy came along and told you how to reset it. If you have a Polaris with you, blame it on the belt slipping and it finally dried out. if you have a Honda with you, tell them you were stuck for hours trying to get it out. you get the picture.
