Working the BF750
Hello all,
I am in the market for a utility/sport quad (more utility than sport) and was wondering if anyone on the board uses their Brute Force 750 for work (most posts I have read about involve mudding to fast trail riding). Just wanted to know how well they can do work (plowing, pulling, etc.). I might get a chance to use it on the trails, but for now it will be removing downed trees and plowing a long driveway (~500 ft). I am also considing the Grizzly 660 and Prarie 700 or 650, but I have already quite a few good comments about their abilities.
Thanks,
Don

All of the Kawi's will eat belts if you do not use low range to pull heavy objects or go through deep mud. Kawi recommends you drive in low gear whenever possible. Especially, if you are out riding trails and not plan on going over 35-40 MPH. Hi gear on the Kawi's is best reserved for the open trails/roads when speeds are consistently over 35 MPH.

I believe a sportspan 500-700 would suit you best.
However IF sport riding ever becomes more important to you than utility, prairie 700 is the only choice.
I wouldnt use a Kawi for harcore work, like the others have said, the belts do not hold up to heavy abuse.
Grizzly is dangerous, stay away if you can.
Arctic cat also makes good work machines.
Good luck with your choice.

I've used a Grizzly to pull trees and plow and it worked exeptionally well! The polaris 800 burnt a belt up during a magazine test I recently read and have the same type of belt system as the Kawi. The Yamaha has the best belt drive system of all the brands out there! And yes ,for all work purposes use LOW range.

I think the Brute Force 750 should be fine for utility work. The last two years I owned a Prairie 650 and it never saw a trail. I put over 400 miles on it and it was all pulling. I pulled a 4ft. wide disk with two concrete blocks on it and it dug deep. I pulled a drag section and a 48" wide rough cut mower. I put in 17 acres of CRP grasses and trees using my Pririe 650 as my tractor. I had the belt adjusted once, but never wore one out. I'm sure my Brute should do just as well if not better.

Thanks for the info guys. I guess I will have to think twice about the BF750 for work purposes.
GSXRPred, I see if I can find a place to look at the AC650 V2.
As for the Sportmans, I didn't really like the styling, or feel of the sitting arrangement/handle bars.
Also the very heavy weight was a negative as I have to load and unload from the back of my
pick-up.
