I flooded my KVF,I had noticed the same bog.Turns out I had water in the clutches and it simply wouldn't let clutches spin freely.Take cover off and clean and make sure gasket is in good order.
If oil is milky change it a few times.I have 500 miles on it since,no problems.M/M.

If you get water in your belt cover (a little anyway, maybe not completely soaked), just put the bike in neutral and rev it for a while, get some air moving through it to dry it out. Moving it when wet is about the worst thing you can do to your belt/clutches. Happened to mine when new, a stick popped the air intake boot off at the bottom and it filled right up, clutches have very deep grooves in them from slipping then, and my belt was pretty much toast by the time I got home.
Depending on the water (clean or muddy), I'd still recommend pulling the cover off and cleaning up in there, but the neutral thing can get you out of a bind without hurting your clutches.

Rolled it off the truck fired it up and the speedo is working fine. I pulled the cvt cover off and it was a bit dusty but nothing bad, belt was still 30mm so like new yet. I did notice that slight bog at WOT though.
The CVT cover gasket is doubled over in a couple small spots nothing huge (appears to still be sealing fine), I was just thinking of using a bit of white lithium grease on the gasket when its reinstalled.
Otherwise fluids all look good. Wonder what is making that bog?

I use a kind of silicone grease on my gasket, not sure exactly what it's called but it originally came with a K&N filter, was meant to be used for sealing around the edges of the filter. Seems to work real good, not messy, won't wash out, and doesn't make the gasket stick when you take the cover off.
