Default New Brute stutter

Just bought a brand new 750 thing is a monster but at takeoff it has a little stutter to it if I am already rolling it is fine the mechanic says that will go away with the break in is done, the neddle was changed and the a arm recall did not effect my vin # any clues thinking this might be from the cdi retarding the timing before 3 mph have a new dyna cdi (3rd one) going to put in see if that helps

What the mechanic said was a good example of why not to take most techs or salesmen seriously.

Either it runs good or it doesn't. If it doesn't, there is something wrong with it that needs fixed. Go ahead and ride it hard being sure to vary the rpms from wide open to idle.....don't run it at one speed or say 20-30 mph range the whole break-in. Run it wide open for a few miles, then back down to regular trail riding ups and downs, then repeat. As soon as you get it broken in, take it in and do not be shoved out the door with some b/s from the dealer saying it will cure itself. This sounds over the top, but I have been around long enough to be totally fed up with b/s. You paid a lot of money for that bike, they don't want to see you except for paid maintenance, don't let 'em get away with that.

P.S.: Finally read your msg more closely.....when I first read it, it made me mad and I didn't really answer very well. Kawi's stock igniters are almost bullet proof and very reliable. I have the dyna in both of mine, but would rather have kawi's igniters if they were timed right.

got out for a ride today put in the dyna cdi the stutter is gone I kind of thought it felt like the timing because after I was rolling there wasn't any stutter, let me tell you this thing is a beast wheelie like a dickens in high range its a rocket in low, the front end wanders because you can't keep enough rubber on the ground like its to light.seems to go into 4 wheel drive quicker then my 650 as well.have the almond and marron spring still to put in can't wait to see what that does

Glad to hear you fixed it. Is the dyna igniter helping a lot with the wheelies? At least you'll only have to replace the rear tires from now on, especially with the maroon spring.

Going to take some getting used to going uphill.
