looking @ buying a new kfx400
hello guys!
i currently have a 97 Lakota 300 and i'm looking to buy a new 400 and have a few questions.
my riding usually consist of trail riding and muddin. my biggest concern with buying a new 2wd is the fact that noone makes a bike any more like my lakota that actually has fenders which keep you fairly clean when sling mud. can someone tell me how bad the 400 is in the mud? i have swampers on the back of my lakota and they do really good in the mud and if i get stuck, it's because of lack of clearance causing me to high-center. has anyone tried putting any mud tires on the 400? my last question is that one of the favorite things about my lakota is how high the air snorkle is. i've been in water up almost to the gas cap and that thing has never drowned out or took in any water. how does the 400 compare here? (i don't make it a habit to get in water that deep, but hey, it happens
thanks for any advice you can give!
also wish the 400 had an auto clutch instead of manual, makes it hard to hold on to the beer and shift

If you're looking for something to do some muddin and be able to hold your beer at the same time I would suggest getting a sporty utility 4x4. The way I understand your post is that you like the mud. If you plan on putting swampers on the z400 then that defeats the purpose of getting a sport quad IMO. But hey, I can't tell you what's wrong or right cuz there is no such thing here. It's up to you and you can do whatever you want. I'm just suggesting something like a Brute Force 650 4x4 (which is currently the deal of the year) or Prairie 700 which will get you in the deep stuff, carry your beer and you'll still be able to throw the quad around and haul *ss.
Just a suggestion.
