Default bt750

hi everybody i'm thinking about buying a750,and where i live you don't have to worry about speed. we are either on logging roads or dodge'n pine stumps.how does a bike this size handle when you are just trying to get to a new fishing hole without knocking your wife 10 feet high [i have to hold my fishing rods ] ? is the ground clearance good enough with the stock tires, or should i try to go bigger when i buy it so i can trade with the dealer while they are wanting to sell me one ? how does it handle crossing small creeks with steep banks? is the belt drive water pruff? this dealer i talked to has only been opened a little while, and they were real nice, but the sales people are not up to date yet. any info anyone has will help me decide.
thanks
