The BF650 is basically a P650 with new plastic fenders. I've owned a P650 for 2 years now and can tell you that I like this quad alot for my purposes.

Pros:
Solid Rear Axle give sportier feel in turns, not tippy, etc.
Strong/Torquey V-twin motor is very fast compared to other brand Big Bore 4x4 quads.
Front diff lock is useful in the deep mud for "true" 4wd mode.
Selectable 2 and 4wd is a good feature too.
Its a proven machine (reliable) b/c its been around since the 2002 P650 model.
Lots of mods available for this b/c its been around since 2002 and b/c it was a popular quad for GNCC.

Cons:
Stock Tires are flimsy and worthless (replace them immediately).
When going from 2 to 4wd, you must roll forward a few feet (its not immediate shifting).
The most common weakness I've experience or heard of is that the oil seals tend to leak over time (cheap to replace if you do it yourself) & the actuator motors sometimes wear out over time (not cheap to replace).
Solid rear axle does not provide as much ground clearance as IRS quads and not as much comfort over bumpy stuff.

I'm sure I've forgotten some things, but this is a good start. If you are looking for a very sporty big bore 4x4 quad, I think the BF650 or P700 are some of the top choices on the market right now. If you are looking for a deep mudding 4x4 quad, then I think you have better choices such as the BF750 or maybe the new Pol. SP800.

Its a prairie 700/650 just new name and new plastic. Its also IMO the best buy on the market. Being that the Prairie 650/700 has been at the head of its class for 4 years now that pretty much sums it up. The brute uses the original version of the v-twin. Its almost as fast as the Prairie and has better plastic than the prairie for 500 bucks less. IMO they are by far the most fun to ride quads around. I still have my original Prairie 650 and she still runns perfect. Best quad I have ever owned. The Twin peaks I have are prairie clones. Take a test drive and you will see why they are rated and spoke of so highly of.

Got my Prairie new in 2002. I owned a 250 & 500 Polaris prior. The 650 Prairie IMO is/was the BEST in its league an I've only changed the oil, adjusted the belt and valves. Every thing else was performance add on's.. Now that the BF 650 has all the refinements of the 700 its only got better.

My Prairie holds its own and is a sheer blast to ride & has more power than you'll ever need on the trails. If its not a Modded Kawasaki 700/Twin Peaks Quad, its no contest!! Add a Dyna, Secondary, & primary Spring to the BF650 & its a Dr Jeckel & Mr.Hyde!!

Can't go wrong with BF650 They are selling for $5800 OTD in Hutchingson KS.
