What Springs?
#1
What springs should I go with? Right now my Prairie is bone stock, however future mods will include an HMF full system, Dyna CDI, and possibly hotcams. I mostly ride on trails, but occasionally at the dunes. Just want more power.. Thanks for any help

If I were you, I would buy 2-3 different springs and try them all out. They're cheap. They are a snap to switch out and that way you can find one that suits you. I run the EPI Maroon (1/170) in my 650 and really like it. It pulls a lot harder and has minimal stall (about 100 rpms over stock with stock shims). You should benefit from it even more with the mods you have planned.

PrairieRidr: The HMF full system on a Prairie has questionable results. On top of that, they want big $.
There is confusion on after market exhaust gain because they help the sport quad, but not Prairies.
On the primary spring change, it's hard to beat the stock spring after adding 1 or 2 shims to it. If you're intent on putting in a new spring, EPI (after a lot of research) recommends pink or maroon spring for our bikes. If you want to flat jump out of the hole, Dalton's orange/blue will do it for you; EPI red will do it even more, but the bike will sound like it's going to blow up at 45 mph....no free lunches. Try the Kawi shims first is my recommendation to you.

Maroon worked good for me,trail riding is alot more fun!!I agree to buy a few for the comparison.First off get a black secondary, and get two of the primary shims(three total)as well. The stock BF750 spring (0/155) is to be a good addition.M/M.
