Purchasing my first Quad

Well I was all set to tell you about my 700 but bigcreek1 did a such a great job of telling you about his that.................... aw what the hay, I'll tell you anyway.
All of the gripes that bigcreek1 talked about I have. The mud issues, the downhill braking and the tank size. These are all small issues and almost nonissues.
Mud issues, that's why they make plastic gear. Braking issues, thats why they have the two handles on the bars for. Tank size, no problem, the aftermarket covers that. Like bigcreek1 alluded to, it would be nice if they fixed these issues from the factory. But again, like he stated, they are no big deal.
I went riding today and although I can't guarantee a 400 size rice rocket would not have made it, both my buddy and myself agreed that it would have been a big problem for a gear/clutch type machine on the trail we were on. I will post some pictures soon so you can see what I'm talking about. My friend had a CR250 and he was having a hard time on the trails we were on because he could not go slow enough. I could go 1/2mph if I wanted too. The 400 type MXer's can't crawl along like that. They worn't made to do that kind of riding.
The big KFX does not do the best in most cases but it does great in all cases. It may or may not be the quad for you, but it was the quad for me.

A quad nobody has mentioned is the DS 650. Out in the sand or more open areas this quad is really good. It uses a Rotax engine that puts up some good performance numbers. The quad is set up with a lot of suspension travel for a smoother trail ride, yet it will still soak up the bumps at 70+mph. It's especially suited for big guys and open areas, little men need not apply here.

yes, thats true. The DS650 is an option, although I have not been able to ride one. Its supposed to be a great dune runner, but down here its all about the trails. A DS650 wont fair too well at Sugar Creek.
