I was trying to adjust my chain tensioners and ran into a major problem. The brake rotor side of the rear rim chain tensioner was seized big-time in the swingarm. I had to cut it off then attempt to drill it out. It did not work that great!!! I am looking at possibly buying a new/used swingarm for the 2003 KX250. Does a 1999-2002 swingarm from a kx250 or kx125 fit a 2003-2005 kx250. It seems in all the parts listing that there must a big change in the bike setup from 2002 to 2003. Basically will another year swingarm work on an 03 KX250. Thanks.

i would go look on a parts diagram and see if the part numbers for the other years are the same as a 2003...if not...you gotta get the 03

 

I highly doubt that the 2002 swingarm would fit the 2003 bike. Kawasaki totally redesigned the KX models in 2003, which included new frames and swingarms. I also doubt that a 125 swingarm would fit a 250 because the engine cases are different. Look around and try to find one for the 03-04 model years. Don't try to use an 05 (provided you could find one) because the frame and engine are both totally new for this year, too, and will not interchange with the previous generations at all. If all else fails, take it to a fabrication shop that can weld aluminum, and have them repair it. I hope this helps your situation.
