P650 4x4 and engine brake out... Any ideas?
#1
This is a question for my brothers 2002 P650. His bike won't go into 4x4, and the engine brake system is not working either. We tried swapping his control module from his bike to mine, and mine to his... but his module checked out fine, and with both modules my bike would go into 4x4 and engine brake worked fine.
If any of you guys have had this problem, or have any ideas... please let me know.
Thanks a heep!!

Let me know following to help you.
When you shut off the engine, does the engine brake actuator cycle (potentiometer is trying to reset to its home position)?
Is anything flashing on the meter?
Is rev limitter coming on too soon?
Do this now.
Disconnect the Engine brake actuator connector. Using alligator clips, apply 12VDC from your battery directly to connector pins (+Red and -Blk) of the EBC actuator. Apply for about 3 seconds and make sure it is cycling. Reconnect the connector and see if it is OK. If not, repeat 2 more times. If the motor is not cycling, there is something wrong with the ebc actuator.
Good Luck.

hey vengence, sorry to take this off topic but, what do you think about buds new rules. Are you still going there
My only concern is the constant deep ruts at Buds. I've cut WAY back on riding there just due to the ruts and dusty conditions. I've been riding alot around my place mostly. I live out inthe country on 5 acres, but the local farmers don't mind me riding on their land so long as I don't cut across the middle of the fields. There are woods, fields, streams rivers...etc... for me to explore.... and most importantly.. no fighting deep ruts! lol Other then that... I'm still looking for someplace to ride in the area.
So to answer your question... I think it's a fair deal that Bud is offering.... especially if it's the only place you have to ride. If his place wasn't so rutted up, I'd ride there every time I went out.
btw.. have you been to Happy Hollow down by Hilsboro, Oh? It has a short and long MX track as well as lot's of hills to play on.... The jumping pics in my gallery is from there.

hey vengence, I would like to do the money thing with bud and im thinking about doing it. Buds is my favorite local place to ride. I just have to get my buds to do it and ill be happy. Buds ruts are pretty crazy though. Can make you mad, or its just fun to ride them. However, I do suggest you go and try wayne national forest somtime. IT is a great place to ride. About 2 hours away. Hundreds of miles of trails. Were going back this summer. The only bad thing is, it doesnt open untill probally june do the fact that it had to much erosion and they have to fix it. Bummer. But the good news is there is a place just south of it in jackson called Richlands furnace that supposable is a good place to ride. Were try that out. One of my dads friends from work went there(who also gos to buds) with a new grizzly said, "watch out for those puddles". He said a puddle he went in turned out to be a rack deep mud hole. haha. Buy ya, tell me about some of the places youve been. thanks
