Default Front Diff Question. Front end seems locked??

I changed my front brakes last night and in 2 wheel drive both my front wheels are spinning in the same direction?? If one wheel is on the ground, one will spin by its self with no problem? But The last time I rode it if felt like I was stuck in diff? Im thinking its the actuator maybe because its buzzin crazy? Anyone have any problems like this? ~coop

Default Front Diff Question. Front end seems locked??

It sounds like your front diff gears are starting to seize. Let me know:
1). When was your last oil change there?
2). What kind of oil did you use?
3). When you drained (if you ever did), what was the color and was there any metallic contaminant?
4). Is it difficult to steer, like diff lock is engaged?
My best advice is that you stop riding at all and open up the front gear case TO PREVENT MORE EXPENSIVE/SERIOUS DAMAGE. At this time, it could be just 2 small bevel gears and one shaft are slightly seized. If you keep riding, even in 2WD, eventually everything in the gear case could be destroyed because broekn gear teeth could go free riding all over inside the gear case. Even the gear case couldl be busted open.
Good Luck.

Default Front Diff Question. Front end seems locked??

The last time I rode it did seem difficult to steer, like diff lock is engaged? But it also felt like it was going in and out? I thought it could be my actuator acting up? The first time I notest it and checked it I thought? the two front wheels were spinning opposite? But I decided to go ahead and change the fluid, and do a better inspection as well as add new brake pads. I didn't really check it out again before hand But it seems like after the fluid change they started spinning together more? I use a 20/50 synthetic and try to change my diff fluid a few times a year. On this last change it was a little cloudy but didn't seem to bad? Can these gears also stick?

Open up the gear case is what I didn't wanna hear!! It looks like taking it off is going to be a major pain in the A@@!~lol But If that's what I gotta do????? Just wondering if anyone else had this problem? ~coop
