#1
hi all... i know this question has prolly been asked many times here....instead of searching through all of the great questions and answers...thought this way would be easier...anyway im curious if there are some easy to do mods..or on the cheap side of it...to make my 02 p650 lil faster..or lil more powerful at the sametime.... ive noticed some of my buddies has newer bikes..and well there a lil faster .. but im the one who likes to leave them in the dust..not the other way around ..lolol...thanks all

Best money spent is a ignition module, cheaper ones are High Lifter or DG3, more expensive (worth it) is the Dynatek CDI, it gives a broader performance increase. the HL or DG module are around $100 and Dyna is $240. Don't bother with exhaust for now, DG has a intake tube that helps the P650 breath or go with the NAPA hose.
Go to NYROC's site for all the info you could want on this machine, this guy has done it all.
Good Luck

Check the mods in my signature for different things you can do to the P650. The biggest gains I noticed are he Dyna CDI ($250) and the top-speed primary clutch mod ($120). A good set of tires to replace the Dunflops are a good investment too.

Shotgun,
BBK would be best, but I think this guy is looking for something less expensive.
MarkSD,
Which springs are you referring to? Front suspension springs or Clutch springs? I use Progressive suspension springs, but I've heard that the Elkas are a little better (the Elkas cost more $ too). As far as clutch springs, its a matter of preference...if you like hi stall effect springs, get a primary spring like the EPI red, Dalton Orange/Blue, etc. I like no stall primary springs and have found good results with the stock P700 spring and also (more recently) with the EPI Maroon spring. As far as secondary springs go, the stock spring is probably fine for 25" tires, but you want something stiffer for larger/heavier tires...I have used the EPI Black secondary with good results. It also works good with 25" or less tires, but I noticed a little more backshifting with it...which I happen to like b/c I can slow down quicker in the turns without hitting my brakes as much.

Best top-speed mods that I have are the Dyna CDI (I gained 3mph top speed) and the top-speed primary clutch mod (I gained another 3mph top speed).
No downside to using the Dyna cdi unless you happen to get a bad one (with kickback problems)...but you can always send it back in during the 1 year warranty and get a free replacement if that happens.
