i have been having trouble finding body parts for my tecate 4 so i have decided i am going to by a mojave frame and put my tecate motor in that. i think its a very good idea.i would like other peoples opinion though. iether way im still gonna do it.

 

check out Cycleworksracing.net... greg has tons of parts for the tecate 4 as well for the mokave...but thats not to bad of an idea switching the motor into a mojave frame..it will be a lot of work... but it will rip and be fast as hell[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

if it was me i would just keep the tecate and look for the body parts. ebay or greg usaully has some or go to www.k a w ieriders.com with out the spaces

Before the Mojave or the Tecate, Kawasaki had a proto-type quad called the Mocat. It was a Mojave frame with a Tecate Motor.

 

that seemes like a good idea, they should have stuck with it. do you have any pics? where did you find out about this, i just ran a search and couldnt find anything at all

 

A friend of my Dads worked at a Kawasaki dealership in the 80's and he told me about it.

 

The mocat was designed for the factory Kawasaki riders, it was after the mojave was introduced and was a Mojave frame with the Tecate 3 wheeler engine.

In summer of 86 Kawasaki already was selling 87 mojave models in some areas, with the Tecate for still in the works and the dissolving of the 3 wheeler team Kawasaki assigned Reid Nordin the task of building the MOCAT til the tecate 4 was completed and race ready.

They were rode by Jackie Meadows and Charlie Shepard.
