Default Is there a difference between slip on and full exhaust performance?

I have a 2005 KFX400 and have heard the best reviews for the Yoshimura exhaust. Now, is there really any difference between the slip on muffler and the full exhaust system? I don't really see a difference between the stock manifold pipe and the Yoshimura pipe.....is there one?

Welcome to the forums

From what I have read here on the forums is; If you can afford the full system, then buy it. If not, the slip on will give you some power, but, not as much as the full system. As some one at one time posted, even 1 or 2 hp difference is a lot, when your talking about a machine that might only make upper 20's to mid 30's in horse power.

yep your right also you haveta remember the header pipe on a stock quad wasnt made for the pipe your putting on it was made for the stock pipe so sometimes that could be an issue i havent seen it but never know... check ebay definitely to save some serious cash but watch the sellers feedback the more the better and you should be fine i saved 400 bucks from buying it locally at the yamaha dealer here...

the more feedback the better on Ebay is NOT what you look for, I was ripped off by a guy that had 3,000 feedbacks, the part I didnt pay attention to was that 162 were negative and there were another 200 nuetral ones that said real bad things. Look at the % and if it's lower than 100% then he's had negative and you should then go read what they were. I don't deal with anybody that has less than 98% positive feedback. Generally the ones the say "powerseller" are reputable sellers.
