Default Could it be that choke cable

Hi again I posted this the other day ...Think it could be the choke cable... well took it to my dealer
and this is a first Have owned my 650 since 2002 and have never shut off the fuel when I park it
and have never had this problem either but mechanic told me had fuel in my oil. thats why it was doing all the
missing /fluttering and fouling plugs got to admit it does run better now and have started turning off the fuel
He said choke cable was okay and he pulled the bowls off both carbs.. but after it runs for awhile or I guess gets warm it begins
to misfire but not as bad as before. What my question is now could it be needing the valves adjusted and has anybody had a Rectifier
go bad from going thru water because our creeks here in colorado are really running high and things have been getting soaked
And just thinking maybe that could be some of my problems hope you have some information to share with me
l Thanks Twinrider

Should have had dealer put in the KLR 650 choke plunger springs while it was apart. 02 prairies are known for having weak plunger springs. Weak choke plunger springs will allow fuel to fill up carbs, overflow into your airbox & crankcase plus, make your machine run rich & foul plugs. Always shut off your fuel when done riding. Save you a few headaches in the long run.

Thanks for the information .... TUFFENUF......took it back to the dealer told him to install a new choke cable and the heavier plunger spinngs
These klr 650 springs are ....what a new replacement or an upgrade for the newer 650 Or what ????? told him to set Valves while he's that deep into things atleast this will eliminate somethings hate process of elimination but sometimes it works better that way
any other information will be appreciated/ thank you[

Default Could it be that choke cable

Some earlier 2002 650 choke cables were made a little short and caused cable binding. Replacing the cable with a new one (same part #) fixed their stuck choke. The 02 cable P/N is 54017-1219. The 03 kit is 54017-1222. People have said the 03 cable fits the 02 and works better than the 02 cable.

The plunger kit on the 02 and 03 is listed as 16016-1117 This number is different than what used to be listed, so it must have the improved spring. you can use a KLR spring (16C063, 92081-1720 Called a SPRING PLUNGER).
