Bayou electric start question??
#1
OK, If I leave my bayou sit for more then a week or so I can try the electric start till the battery goes dead and it wont start, BUT on the first try of the pull rope it fires right up. Now if I start it every few days it starts fine with electric. I would think if I had a fuel problem it wouldnt start with the pull rope either. Anybody have any ideas? It starts perfect when it does, cranks about 1 second and up and running, the pull start always starts it.

Id say the battery is failing.
If you hook up a voltmeter, to the battery, and watch the voltage while cranking...ill bet it drops below 10 volts. But if you run it every day, then it keeps enough of a charge to get spark.
If you dont have a voltmeter, you can take the battery in to a auto parts store and get the battery load tested, this will verify if its good or not.

well, certainly would be worth checking out, however when it cranks with the electric start, it spins over just as fast as it normaly does, I could maybe see if it was a little slow going but it spins over just no fire it seems. But I will check the volts, I got a multi-meter so no problem there, I will keep ya posted! Thanks
