I had a Prairie 650 and really did not care for it. The belt was always sqeeking (even a short while after adjustments), the radiator simply broke and began to leak, the fan switch went bad and I feel the stock tires were very poor. I bought a Honda and am very pleased with it. The Prairie was repaired under the ext. warranty and Kaw. stood behind it so that is a good sign and I respect them for that!
Good luck with yours and mostly likly it will run without any major problems.

Kawasaki is just as reliable as all the others. In the beginning, Honda was the top dog in reliability and polaris was last. But today, they are all the same.......very good. Yes you do get lemons in any brand, but it really comes down to how you treat the quad and your maintainance. We have a 1997 kawasaki 2510 mule that we have never had a problem with and it has very high hours working on the ranch.

thats BS on what 2005bf750 said about low range.
the motor is made to withstand what ever you can give it.
it will last just as long in low as in high.
i ride my 700 prarie in low and high all the time.
when im in high the throttle is pinned when im in low the throttle is pinned so how is it going to wear out faster.
i just depends how you ride it.
the motor will take whatever you can give it so dont worry about useing low.
when ever i go off the road and onto the trails i use low.
and i can get at least 40 mph in low and that pretty fast for low range.
i have had mine up to around 60 mph in high and that was plenty fast for me.
and if you put wider tires on you bf 650 you wont have any troubles with bending your rims eather.
hope your happy with you new toy.
good luck.

I do not feel that running in low is really going to effect the life of the engine any real world amount. yes in theory it COULD, but in real life there are a million other factors (low oil, poor oil, water in a motor, overheating, part failure, etc...) that will cause issues before the wear that running in low will cause.

Yeah, Honda may have been the benchmark before, but they are slippin' lately. I think they're about third place judging from the different problems we've been seeing out of the Ranchers and Rubicons. I think Polaris has passed them up for such a big line of bikes with way more power than the Rincon. The Kawis should have all the bugs worked out by now, plus they have the most on tap as well. Yamaha is Yamaha.
