Default Valve Adjustment Mileage
Both my bikes run good and I've never had the valves adjusted (one 3300 miles, the other 250 miles).

Is 'if it's not broke, don't fix it' idea a mistake with valve adjustment?

Just because you check them does not mean you need to adjust them. "One" needs to be checked, "the other" can wait for a year or so.

Default Valve Adjustment Mileage
I bought a Brute 650 last month, and the manual in Maintenance and adjustment chapter says every year of use get a Valve clearance-check done.
