Default mojave engine questions

i finnaly got to ride my mojave yesterday someplace besides around the yard. what a blast. i was worried that i should have a 4wd atv because the property that we bought is pretty thick and swampy. but that thing goes through anything. i feel like i got beatup! anyway i had a couple of small problems and thought maybe someone could help. while the bike was idling it would run and sound good then suddenly stall, it didnt sputter or anything it sounded like i shut it off. this happened several times. then sometimes when restarting i had to kick it forever, other times 1 or 2 kicks. it was just inconsistent. could this be the air/fuel screw? also i have a huge knot on my shin from my foot slipping off the kick starter, which brings me to my next question would an engine from a lakota bolt up on my mojave frame?
thanks bryan

one other thing that i wanted to ask about was the noise the engine made when i was at real low rpm and hit the throttle it made a noise almost like a rattling like the timing was advanced too far, it recovered real quick and the noise quit as soon as the rpms came up
any ideas?

I think mine makes a similar sound I am curious about it too.

Mine is practically new and makes that sound so I don't think i'd worry about it.

First off, Welcome to the Forum

Goki does make an aftermarket starter for the mojave, here's the site mojave starter

As far as hard starting, ours was also that way, too. We would kick start it over and over and over. When we tried on one ride for an hour I said enough. Did a search on the forum and found out according to past threads, if the valves out of spec, then, it will affect how well it starts. I adjusted the valves, along with new plug wire, spark plug, rinsed out the fuel tank, replaced the fuel filter and cleaned air filter. Now, my daughter can kick start it on the first try Some of this might of been over kill but, I figured why notIt all did make a difference

As far as knots on the shins been there, done that Need riding boots or at least wear shin guards (soccer style)
