Mojave with 400ex carb tuning...
Well, it's summer once again and I've decided to tinker with the ol' Mojave. I'm in the process of swapping to the 400ex carb, but cannot seem to fine tune things. With the new carb I can start the machine on the first kick and the idle is very smooth, but when I push the throttle in (even a slight amount), the motor revs for a fraction of a second then sputters and quits. It will start right back up with just a single kick.
I've adjusted the valves and tried multiple jets/needle settings, but to no avail. So, I've got a few questions for all of you who have done this modification.
1. What size jets (main and pilot) are you using?
2. Which notch do you have your needle positioned on?
3. What form of air filter/box are you using?
4. Any questions or suggestions on tuning?
Thanks in advance...

Yes! I solved the issue I was having with the motor shutting off when throttled. It may be helpful to someone in the future, so here is my solution. I had misplaced two of the wires to my KLR CDI unit and realized this when comparing the wires to a post I had on this forum years ago. With this simple correction I now have perfect revs.

I finally had a chance to bolt my fenders back on and take some pictures. All of my camera batteries were low, but I managed to get a couple before it beeped at me. I uploaded them into my bio page so once they pass the moderators they should be available.
