BF650 vs. Prairie700
It depends on how much of a power junkie you are. I have ridden the 700 Prairie, but not the 650. I absolutely loved the horses on that bad boy. However, I am told by the owners/riders of both machines that the difference between the 650 and 700 is significant. I'm sure the 650 will have plenty of *****, but the 700 just has that much more......As far as the 650 being top-heavy, I doubt it. It's the same SRA setup as the old 650, isn't it?

I have both and can say with a few modds the 650 can be just as fast as a stock 700. We love to drag race and just yesterday my 650 was still beating stock or semi stock 700's.
As far as one being top heavy vs the other. there should be no difference what so ever. I am thinking you might have road one with more air in the tires than the other or something. The only difference is the bore and stroke and the plastic, the rest is all the same.

I concur with these guys...if you are a speed demon and plan to race your buddies alot (or do XC racing like I do), then get yourself the P700. On the other hand, if you are looking for a great all around quad at a super low price, go get a P650.
If anything, the P650 is actually a little LESS top-heavy than the P700 b/c the P650 has 1/2 inch lower seat height than the P700 (probably b/c they made the frame a tad bit bigger to fit the P700 motor into it). I use 22" tires on my quad for XC racing and so it is MUCH more stable in tight turns than a stock P650/P700.

so if you mod a 700 it will be as fast as a stock 750.
I guess the best way to put it, is that you can save 500.00 bucks and spend it on modds to make it as fast as the 700 that cost 500.00 bucks more. I would say its a toss up.
The other thing I would keep in mind, is that if you are going to go with big heavy mud tires and things like that, then any stock 650 or 700 is going to outrun you in a drag race anyway. So buy the one you like best. I personaly lean toward the 650 because of the better quality plastic, those black fender extensions suck on the 700's. I bet I have spent 300.00 bucks or more replacing broken ones. Whats bad about them is that if tighten them to the point the screws won't fall out then just getting wind buffed on the trailer cracks them out around the screws. I have started trying to leave them a little loose but went back and used locktite on everyone of them. Kawi gets about 9.00 for every screw/nut/washer combo so loosing them is not cheap either.

I have the BF 650 with the mods in my sig and I race my dad's P700 with the HL ICM Power pack, 27" Mud Lites and a Warn 2.5 winch and he blows me away every single time. The BF 650 is just great and I have no complaints but everytime I go with my dad, I wish it was a 700.
cc1999, what have you done to beat a 700?, cause I have a long way to go to beat my dad's 700.

Mudlights eat up power like candy, Thats why I say if you are going to run tires like that, I would not plan on drag racing it with any sucess.
Also did you rejet for your modds?

Well, thats a given if I put my stock tires back on. I know I can beat him with that set up, but if he got rid of his 27" Mud Lites, he would spank me again. I have raced him fully stock before and yes I did beat him, but with similar mods and tires he kills me.
Frequently, ..."theres no replacement for Displacement." ..unless of course you tweak with high performance cams, porting, bigger bore & less stroke pistons, NOS, clutch work, etc.
