BF 650 peice of crap?
I have 3 of them, and in our group of friends and family there are 3 more, and never I mean never has one had to be towed in. We have pulled many a polaris in, but the kawi's have never left any of us a foot in past several years we have been running them they all have performed very, very well. There are occasional glitches that have to be addressed every now and then but I know of no one that I have even herd of that has had to be towed in. I belong to 4 different atv forums and have never herd such a wild stament about any of these quads (P650/P700/BF650/STP700's). I am thinking someone is full of BS.

I have 3 BF 650's I ride with and they all love there machines. Not any problems so far for anyone and they love them. All machines have less than 2000 miles. My P-700 has 3000 miles and I love it. So I find it hard to believe the BF 650 is having problems since it is a clone of p-700 with BF skin and 50 cc' s less. The cooling fan kicking on is a safety issue even when the key is off. This does not mean the machine is over heating. I'm running a hmf exhaust and dynatek cdi and do not over heat even at 100 degrees in Arizona. I have taken a second step and also run with distilled water and water wetter in the summer.
The BF 650 is a great machine and if you ask me a steal at around 6300.

Hey dog, ive had lots a probs with mine also, so i know how ya feel, the only thing that fixed my overheating problem was adding purple ice to the rad. my rad was always clean front and rear and topped up, and it always overheated till i put in the additive. maybe thats a bit of help instead of ppl telling you how great there machine is, i guess ours were made on a fri before a long weekend or something.

Hey bailey1dog thats your problem it is a bunch of BS when people say crap like purple ice is the only thing that fixed my problem. And quote " ive had lots a probs with mine also". This is all BS and you are your own problem. The fan coming on does not mean you are overheating.
What are all these problems you claim to have?

There is a temp light in the gage display and other than my BB800 Twin Peaks I have never tripped it. The BB had a sleeve drop a few 1000th's of an inch which put enough pressrue on the head gasket to make a small opening that would allow exhaust pressure into the coling system causing the back head to overheat the system. That is from a 800 BB motor upgrade not a factory problem. I have had the fan run for long periods of time on my other kawi twins, but minimus is right thats not overheating, thats how it is designed to work. bailey1dog is also right about different coolants improving the system by decreasing the temperature which will reduce the run time on the fan. The Evans coolant was the best I found out there when we were trying to figure out a way to cool my FST 800 pryor to tearing it back down and finding the real problem. Evans will not boil and unless you are in alaska it also will not freez. So no need to swap coolonts from season to season. However I do not rember 4x4king saying he was concerned about the fan running, just that he had cooling problems. If the dealer techs knew what to look for I bet it is a symple problem like a colapsed coolant filter or bad stat or somthing basic that a good servce department that knows there way around one of these quads could have fixed the first time in.

i was offering advice to the guy with the overheating problem, purple ice fixed mine, so go inhale more exhaust fumes. Ive had lots of problems with mine most were fixed but the overheating icon was never solved, if your convinced this topics all b.s why did you even look here, you knew you were not goin to like what you read.

bailey1dog I am just defending a machine I believe in and when someone starts a post the BF 650 is a piece of crap and then your post was to confirm and a bunch of other problems. I know this is BS at least for the majority of BF650 Prairie 650 and 700 owners. Purple ice and or water wetter makes a small difference in temperature on a machine up to 20 degrees. If you are hitting the hot flashing icon on your machine I say you need to find out what your problem is. It is not common, for sure. I just got back from a ride at 103 degrees and my fan was running but I never overheated.

Plus it seems some fokes would rather exagerate there problem, rather than give details so that some of us might be able to help them resolve there problem. Not knowing all the details also makes it hard to help people. I also never said anything about 4x4king lieing about his problem, I just was wanting to get more details so I might be able to help him resolve his problem and get the same enjoyment from his quad that many of us have had with our quads like his.
