Clutch problems?
#1
I was asking a local shop about any problems that the Kawasaki Prarie had since the Twin Peaks is a clone. The dealer said he had a lot of clutch (not belt) problems with the 650's. He said he hadn't seen any of the 700's yet. Have there been a lot of problems with the clutches. It just made me a little nervous. Are the 700's identical to the 650's. I know the belt is different. I just wanted some input to sleep easier at night. Right now I really love my Twin Peaks but I don't want to have problems later.

Pads Ride it like you stole it.
Just inspect, clean your belt/clutches, and do belt deflection adjustments periodicaly. Most belt problems are self induced.
Running wide open in HI for 5-10 miles, pulling heavy loads in HI gear, going through thick muck in HI, pulling your bud out of a stuck in HI. Use low whenever possible or when your sustained speed will be less than 30MPH.
Do not put such a pull/load on quad where rear tires are not moving but engin is reving hi. If you get your belt wet in a stream or mudhole & belt starts slipping, put it in neutral and High idle it to let it dry. Don't ride it with a slipping belt.
