Default New Brute Force 650 & 750

Hello everyone. I just picked up new 2005 650 & 750 Brute Force quads. We couldn't decide between them, so we got one of each. The first thing that come to mind is wondering if I got caught up in the moment and paid too much. They were $6,400 and $7,400 out the door (with a high tax rate and CA green sticker). Did I get bent over, or is this a resonable price? Are there any trouble areas I need to keep an eye on? What are the hot mods for these?

Both units will need better "Meats" on those wheels.
The BF750 would benifit even better with aftermarket set of wheels along with tires, this will widen the BF750 & give it more of a stable overall feel to it.
The Tie-rods and tie-rod ends are weak on the BF750 but DiamondG has your fix,#714-299-3865. If you don't upgrade right away on the tires/wheels, then the stock tie-rods/ends should do OK for the 1st 400 to 500 miles.
Check with www.xopco.com for tire/wheel kits, he is located real close to you as his store is in NV.

Where did you get your 750? I live in California and am looking to pick up a 750 BF. I'm in the Sacramento area.

We bought ours at Good times Kawasaki on Auburn blvd.
http://www.sacramentomotorcycles.com/

We went with the Kawi's because those were the ones my wife liked the most. I was really lucky here. My wife road a friends Suzuki 250 sport quad, and then another friends Polaris 650 4X4. She was hooked by the end of our weekend camping trip. I liked the Grizzly, but my wife just didn't feel comfortable on most of the larger 4X4's. I couldn't see droppin the money on just a 2 wheel drive sport quad. We were about to give up until she sat on the 650 Brute Force. She gave me the thumbs up for the 650, so I got the 750. The difference between them is amazing. About the only thing they share is the power. Now were in search of more quadin areas up Hwy. 80. We've been to Eagle Lakes and Forest Hill. We need more

I was talking to the same dealership (Goodtimes Kawasaki) they were $100 higher on the 750 to me ..

I did call the Hayward dealership and they were $7000 OTD on non-camo 750... Told me to wait until next week and maybe give it to me for $6800...

Replace the stock wheels and tires if you are going to do ANYTHING other than ride around in fields or gravel rodes, even then holeshot atr's will make them both handle much better. After that, for performance, get yourself a couple of dynatek cdi's or go cheaper and get the highlifter holeshot modules, dynas are better IMO. Also check out the different primary springs I prefer the red spring from erlandson performance, it gives the best 100 yard drag times. The dynatek cdi's are around $250, the highlifter holeshot modules are around $100, and the primary drive springs are around $25. These mods are very popular and can be found at most performance shops but I generally get most of my stuff off of ebay. I just reread your post and thought I should tell you unless your wife or for that matter yourself aren't experienced riders be careful with these mods. If you install them, believe it or not, either of your quads will be a wheelie monster and the 650 will give a 400 sport quad a run for it's money and the 750 will smoke'em.

I beg to differ

A 350 warrior beating a Prairie/Brute 650? Only if the 650s are strapped down on a trailer or out of gas.
