Default anyone drill the pipe??

Has anyone drilled the pipe on there B.F 750? Does it really realease a bit of backpressure and help it flow and jett better? Does it really do anything aside from making it really loud is it just a myth?
My freind swears it worked on his Grizz.

OK here is what I did to my 04 Prairie 700.
I cut the end off of the can. I then removed the small 1inch spark arrestor. I drilled 6 - 1 inch holes all the way down. I welded the cap back on. I then used a dremel to smooth out the inner ( now 2 inch) outlet and sprayed it black with high temp paint. I then had to re-jet and did notice an improvement over stock. Not like my dg3 but an improvement none the less. Now my bike is not loud but does have a very sweet rumble to it! I have never had it metered for the decibles but it is alot quieter than my buddies Rincon with an HMF Utility series on it. I am still using the stock intake filter and air snorkle so there may be power yet to be had!
This did raise my noise level enough to make me consider buying or building a silencer type for hunting though.
