Default kfx700 help!!!

i'm a fairly qualified mechanic, but i'm having trouble with a kfx700. the quad does not seem to be getting fuel. if you squirt gas (or starting fluid) in the carbs, it will start but then starve in a few seconds after it burns what you squirted in. i removed the fuel line and the fuel pump is working fine. my next thought was that the float needle and/or seat could be blocked. i removed the carbs and cleaned them twice and still no luck. the bowls are both full and the diamphrams also seem to be working well. can anybody offer any help?

WOW! that's wierd.

If the bike runs only when you pour gas in, I have to say it's between the pump and carb. Have you removed the pump to see if there's a blockage at the pickup? When you removed the lines, did you try to start it up to see if the pump's working at the right pressure? Sorry, I don't have any good answers for this one man.

Hummmmm well both carbs. would not go bad at the same time so it must be somthing they share; you say the pump is working;and fuel in the carbs. so the only other thing I can think of is the vent tube it's a two into one set up so this would affect both carbs. on most quads if it gets under water or plugged in any way it will die. so thats all I can think of to check...good luck let us know.

1st Pull your bowls, jets, and pilot jets inspect & clean and blow out jet opening with compressed air source Also blow out brass/vent fittings near each carb inside airbox. 2nd Remove Fuel line from carb to petcock on carb end and turn on key while you cycle you petcock from on to off. If fuel slows or trickles with petcock on dissassemble petcock inspect/clean.
