Default ??? on the 04 Parire 700

My brother just traded in his 05' foreman for an 05 prairie 700. He loves the power but just wants to know if there is any thing that he should be aware of (problems)? We both have been Honda fans ( I have 04 Rubicon) but he fell in love with the power take off on the Prairie 700. Basically is there anything with 04 that he should watch?

nope, really great and reliable quad. The only thing he needs to do that is important is to use low gear as much as possible. My rule of thumb is to use it when im going 20 or below or when rock climbing, mud, hills, etc. Some people say use high and dont look back, all im saying is you will have allot less to worry about if you just use it right. Its not like it goes slow in low, haha, its a 700. Other than that your good to go, tell him to have fun.

Easier on the belt, just like my AC650. The only time I use high is when I'm cruisin down a road, otherwise everything else in in low. Course, I can still go 55mph in low....but still.

If you ride in water, then pay attention to the swingarm bearings. They're notorious for turning to junk. By the time the swingarm has any side-to-side play, they've already turned into a rusted mess. They aren't sealed and are only lightly greased at the factory. Replacing them isn't that hard, and there's a modification involving a freeze plug to keep the grease clean and dry.
click here for instructions on the fix.

Supertek
THE 700S HAVE LOTS OF POWER. That being said be careful. You can quickly get up to speeds that you & the suspension & brakes will not compensate quick enough for you to turn, jump, or stop.

The handling can be improved by adding better radial tires and replacing front springs with elkas or progressive.

Even More power/performance can be added by simply getting a Dyna CDI, Epi pink or Dalton Orange/blue primary springs.

im confused now. Is this with all auto quads that you run in low range? Say im riding trails, what would i use?
Just curious cause my dad has a king quad and that thing gets pretty good in high gear on the trails.

I ride in low on the trails, but my AC650 goes 50-55 in low. Not all quads will be ridden in low so much. It a 650-700 Kawie thing mostly, not all quads are like that.
