Need help with Mojave Starting!
#1
Hey, I have a 2001 Mojave, i have the factory replacement k@n filter with a dg supertrapp pipe. I always had a weak spot in mid range power and it would run better with the choke on so I knew I was running lean. I finally decided to take it apart and jet it and I decided to get a carb rebuild kit as well since it didn't cost too much and my float valve looked pretty bad. Anyway, i put the kit in and went with a 138 jet to start with. So far I have not been able to get it to start without pulling it. Once I pull it it will run pretty good (i think it is rich so i might go to a 135) but if i let it sit for a few minutes it still won't start by just kicking it. It sounds like it is really close but won't fire. I put in a new spark plug and that didn't seem to help any. let me know if you have any ideas. thanks

i can only wish i had a battery (kick start), if I had electric start I might want to keep it but once i get it running right I am ready to get something different. As for the valves I will have to look into that, thanks for the info. later
