Default 03 Kawasaki Prairie 650?

FINAL EDIT: See below, ended up buying a 05 Kawi Brute Force 650 for a tad over $6k.

A coworker is selling her husbands P650 because he is a soldier in the Army and is being deployed to Iraq. He won't be able to use it for a year, so figured he'd try to sell it. Anyway, it's an 03 P650 with only 100 miles on it. Camo finish with extra racks that have been rhino liner and a warn winch. She said he wants at least $6k for it (actually wanted $6.5k, but coworker said he'd take $6k from me). If he can't get that, he'll just let it sit and use it when he gets back from deployment.

Think it's worth it?

EDIT: I forgot, she said it just went in for a regular service, so shouldn't need one for a while. It's also got hand warmers... we live in Alaska, so those are useful in winter.

IMO, $6K is WAY too much $$$ for a used P650. You can buy a brand new BF650 for about that price including the 6 month factory warranty.

Happy trails...

I agree with Mike, my buddy just picked up a brand new 05 BF 650 for $5600, & it includes 6 mo warranty. I have notice allot of people selling these 650's want about the same price, I say screw em & pick up a brand new one for the same price...

Don't know where you are in Alaska, but the Kawasaki dealer in Eagle River was selling new (05) BF650s for $5999.

The dealer here is a running a 0 down, 0 payments for X amount of time and some killer deals, WITH warranty's.
with the recall, watch, Kawi will divert attention with some sales- they all, always do

Tikaani, Thanks a bunch for the heads up. Just placed a downpayment at Team CC to hold a 05 Kawi BF650 this morning for just over $6k with a Warn 2500 winch (install myself).

Now my only question is the get the 4year warranty for $600? I'm thinking it's worth it considering how much of a beating these things take.

Thanks guys!

There are other sources where you can buy the extended warranty, if you feel you need it. Check Ebay, you will save close to $225 vs thru the dealer.
Also, even with the low miles on the P650, the better price would be $4900 or just keep it.
