06 Brute Plastic
When I was looking at the 06 Brute at the dealership, he mentioned something about the shinier plastics on the Kawis being more breakable. I am looking to get a silver Brute, and wondered if anyone had any idea about the strength of the plastic on the machine. The dealer said that he did not know if the silver plastic was different than the red or green. Any ideas?

I just got a 05 and I asked about the different body colors and was told they are all equally breakable. Don't know if they changed from 05 to 06 though.
Here is another question, how much are all the body panels for an 05 if I wanted to make my dark green into a red model?

I asked that question when I wanted to put the 06 plastic on an 05. reason being, I could get an 05 for about a grand cheaper. when it is all said and done, the plastic and all of the stickers I was told would be about a grand to purchase new so it was going to be a wash. There might be a manufacturer that makes some aftermarket plastic but I am not sure.

i've found the new plastic to be very good. i was hung up on a log and big limbs and backing off it the log like inverted my front fender by left foot(the black and red parts) it then just popped back into place, no crease, or scratch. the is still looking like new after 600 miles. so i'm pretty impressed with the plastic. now for the prairie 650? my brother is on his 2nd set of fenders and the black pieces keep ripping off and they break in the winter, too brittle.

While we're on the topic of plastics, I'm impressed with mine. The other day I had a small (but strong) tree stump go right up into my fender and bring me to a stop. I thought I broke my plastic for sure but when I backed off there was nothing wrong at all. However, I am not happy with the black fender extensions that go from the colored plastic down to the floorboard. It almost got ripped off countless times while plowing and trail blazing in the woods because of the way it just tucks under the plastic. And why does the black plastic extend lower than the floor boards??? That's a bad idea there as well. That always get bent and hung up on ruts, rocks and logs.
Just thought I'd ramble on and share that with y'all.

i believe the piece that hangs down below the floorboard acts like a mudflap, at least that is how kinda works on my rubicon. though i think they should be cut off. i agree with the black plastic comment, i think it could be more pliable maybe or something.
