Default clutch weights and spring and rejetting

Hi guys. My 2004 prairie states in the manual that clutch weights and spring should be changed at anything above 1600 feet sealevel. Has anyone had to lean main jets and change weights and spring to get good performance,I live in Medicine Hat , Alberta Canada at 2350 feet above sealevel.Bike surges at 95 kms hour and won't go much faster. Also backfires on decelleration. My buddies 650 Rincon can just about keep up with me and I thought a 650 prarie could take one of those at top speed.I also have the dyna cdi installed and have a good increase in bottom end(wheelies) but it also backfired on decelleration with stock cdi but would go 98Kms hour without surging.Installed dyna because belt limp mode would activate without tripping switch very frequently (bad cdi?).I hope someone can help me with this. what's your top speed with your stock bikes. Is mine slow? Thanks in advance for your help.

You can try putting in a dyna jet kit. They rejet for different altitudes. I wouldn't change the springs or weights unless you have put bigger/heavier tires on.
