Default swing arm

Well the guys called last night wanting to go for a ride.Had to turn them down as I was drinking all day and pretty well burnt out.So today I decided to go for a ride and only got a mile or so and I felt a little squirm in the back end so stopped too look and found out the left swing arm bearing had failed.Anyone else have this problem and is it easy to replace and how much?

Firefighter, it's not a huge job but it is time consuming. If you do a search on "swingarm bearings", you'll find a ton of posts on how to do it. There's a bunch of different ideas on how to seal up the swingarm to prevent future problems as the bearing failure is usually due to water getting into the swingarm from a torn swingarm boot or leaking rubber bung that is sealing holes in the swingarm. The water runs down the inside of the swingarm and gets into the bearings from the backside.
