I have a kfx 400 engine locked up when changed oil and drain plug feel out do u thnk i should jst put the stoke bore when i rebuild it or do a 440kit does anybody have one on the quad how do they run

 

I have a 440 kit that hasnt been tuned or jetted right and still will rip your hands off the handlebars!!!! I can't wait to make this thing run right! I would do a 440 kit while you have the thing apart, well worth the money. Mine is a Weisco Kit. I think it was like $250 or so, then plus$300 or so to have it put in.

No, I still smoke her. Remember my bike is like 250 lbs lighter than hers, with more power. I figure I make around 40-45hp. Maybe someday when we get an 800 kit for the twin, she will pass me up, but for now, I still win.

Check around for an Athena 434 kit, comes with a new niskel sleeved jug and needed gaskets to bump the compression up. Add cams and DrzE valve springs and U'r set. In 200 yds I now can beat my buddy by 4-5 quad lengths. He has Yoshi pipe and a K&N.

 

Yea i would like to get one of those but i dont i have the money im only 15 i can only afford a wiesco kit its only 180 of ebay

 

A well built, ported 440 with a new carb (at least bigger than the 03's) runs quite well. Still not up there with mild raptors or the like for power but fast none the less.
