Default Dirt Bike Question

Hey, I know this is an ATV fourm, but I cannot find an equivalent dirt bike forum to ask this question. There are a lot of knowledgeable people here on both ATVs and dirt bikes.

Anyways, my friend currently rides a 2003 kx 250 and is looking to upgrade to an 2006 kx 450f. I cannot find any ride info for him, only the specs from Kawas website and a few magazines. Anyone have any info on the new bike such as how it rides, what new features are significant, how it compares to yamaha and honda, and whatever other info yall have.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yeah thumpertalk is great, I frequently visit there.

As for the KXF450, it supposedly will have simular handling as the Honda, but they won't be hitting dealer floors until at least October. Im hearing closer to Christmas tho.

Is he selling the 03' KX250? One of my buddies has the same year bike, really torqy with a good pipe for a 2-stroke.

Yeah, they were saying on Thumpertalk October 1, then they changed it to middle of October, so yeah, Christmas is probably a good bet for it to come out.

He will be selling his kx 250, but not til he gets his new kx 450. We live in Montana, so my guess is with it not coming out til late this fall he will wait til spring, he has a lot of snowmobiling to do this winter. Hehehe.

dirtrider is another site that will have some write ups. It's the official site of Dirtrider Magazine. Haven't heard much about them but the first model year is aways a question...
