having it in low helps belt life, the black spring also helps belt life, so yes the black spring would help. although keeping it in low isnt required. I actually run in high most of the time unless im pulling something really heavy, I ride pretty aggresive with other agressive riders so I need to be able to hit high speed to pass as soon as we break out of a tight trail. (but I dont mind replacing belts more often than others either).
A few morons I ride with say they want to extend belt life so they run in low through the woods then try to shift on the fly when they break out[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img] save the belt but trash the tranny dont sound like good math to me. but to each there own.
