Default 2005 Brute Force 750 Vs. 2005 Polaris 700 EFI?

I went from a 700 EFI to a BF750, here's my opinion: the ride of the Polaris is far superior to the ride of the Brute. the Polaris is easier to steer than the Brute (I put wider wheels on my Brute, that might be why). The Brute has way more power and speed. If you want to go fast quick, get the Brute, if you want to put around in comfort, get the Polaris. Kelly Blue Book on a 2005 Brute is just over $5800, that is what dealers get, not private owners. as far as being a good investment, I would say NO!!!!!! but then, what ATV is a good investment?

Hey bfb750BF,

I couldn't agree more with all your statements here. BTW.........awesome BF you have. Mine looks almost identical to you pic before the limited edition color.......and you are totally blessed to ride in one of the most beautiful places on earth.......enjoy for me when you ride...lol. I go skiing each year in Colorado or New Mexico, but I have never rode my quad up there in the summers. I have been hiking a few times in the summers up there, but the pics you have makes me want to go up next summer for a couple of weeks with my quad. Anyway......awesome quad.

Default 2005 Brute Force 750 Vs. 2005 Polaris 700 EFI?

I have the opportunity to buy a 2005 750 Brute Force tonight for $6000.00. A few questions, how does it stack up against the 700 Polaris EFI? Is $6000 reasonable for the year model and with 243 miles on the ATV? Are there any concerns about the Brute Force I need to know about? Is it a good investment? Are accessories plentiful?
Accessories are plentiful for the Brute, and become more available every day. That should not keep
you from buying the BF750.

The concerns with the Brute seem to be the weak tie rods and ends, the airbox design (for
some it seems to lack enough protection to keep out water and mud), the recall on the a-arms,
and a minor needle problem in one of the carbs on the first units out. These may not really be
considered major concerns to many though.

Comparison wise with the SP700 EFI, they really are two different machines in my opinion. The Brute
is certainly faster, has a snappier throttle response (some would say more violent), is more nimble
due to the lesser weight, and is certainly equipped with better brakes. It all comes down to what
kind of a rider you are. If I were more of a leisurely trail rider, I would go for the SP700 EFI...especially
if I lived in a colder region where EFI would be a Godsend. The Polaris is more plush than the Brute and
makes for a more comfortable ride. If I were a more aggressive rider and less concerned with comfort,
I'd go with the Brute. The Brute Force is pure adrenalin.

700vtwinman:
Drop me a PM when you may know when you are coming to NM for your future Summer ride and I will do my best to be out there with you and take you on some great trails.
Thanks for the nice comments on my "Special Edition BF750". This was one Fun & enjoyable project that I took on with the Upgrades and the refit of my Brute.
I agree, the Polaris are a smooth and very comfty riding ATV, I just wished they didn't weigh so much.
My BF steers great with the 25" Badland Radials & the ITP Type 7 wheels, the steering effort did improve after I switch out the 26"Mudlites for the present 25" Badlands.
My BF is now 49 1/4" wide in the rear & 46 1/4" wide up front with the ITP Wheels/Badlands, along with the upgraded WORKS Steeler shocks the ride, control, handling, comfort now vs stock is like comparing apples to oranges. I also installed a raw gel-pad inplace of some of the stock firm seat foam, now my BF seat is comfy too. I am 100% totally pleased with the Outcome of my Refit..
I know of No 4x4 4wheeler that keeps a good resale value and with all of the goodies I have put into my BF, I will never see it when I sell. I'm not even thinking of doing that, at least it will be the Model yr of late '07 or even '08 before this '05 BF is replaced.

Only one place offers the "Team Green" body for the Brutes and that is Mike Penland. 706-746-2812

The Brute does indeed steer better with the 25 inch Badlands. Mine differs from yours in that I'm running
the heavier Visions with the Badlands. Much nicer response than with the stock wheels/tires....

The TEAM GREEN plastic Body from Mike does not include any Decals at all, no warning labels either.
You have to either use the Stock Kawasaki Decals, which I didn't want to, being this "IS" a "Special Edition" or order your own. I went thru edecals.com I pick the Colors, Letter design, size. They have tons of styles to pick from and will do them in any color you want. They will even make the decals for you using your designs. I just used what they had to offer & picked the Colors & so forth.
The TEAM GREEN Body was $590 shipped + another $60 for new replacement heat tape (JCWhitney) for the rear fender & left side body section.
The Decals came to $120.
$770 total.

I like the P700 also but I live and ride in AZ and the Rocky Mtn states. The mountains are called the "Rockies" for a reason and the BF has the extra ground clearance needed to get over stuff the P700 gets hung up on. The IRS while not as plush as the 700EFI is a lot smoother than the P700.
Regarding the BF going over stuff that the P650/700 gets hung up on, I will agree if you're talking about riding in the mud....the BF can clear more high center points than the Prairies. If the rider could see these high center points (duh), the Prairies would do as well in mud.

Regarding rocks, I have made every ledge and rock that the IRS in front of me has made since I first got my '02 Prairie. Usually, I'm sitting behind them, waiting while they're bouncing around trying to get over whatever it is. I usually get over obstacles quicker and easier than IRS's thanks to the front diff and the SRA since my unsupported rear wheel is not hanging down in a hole that it has to come up out of. BTW, I've ridden with as many as 50 quads on one ride, so I've had my Prairies up against everything out there the past 5 years.

I know it's logical to think that the Prairies would get hung up on the trail more often because of the lower clearance, but I have not seen that to be the case. Not trying to start a pissing contest, this is just what I have experienced.
