Default 2005 BF650 Camo

Hey guys, Im about to purchase a brand new still in the crate 2005 BF650 in CAMO as on either today or tomorrow. Cheapest Ive found it online was $5600 all the way in Wisconsin (7-9hr trip for me) but the local dealer in my area stated that they would be losing money to sell it for that costs. I know he sounds like a horses *** but when I said if they are doing it why cant you match it. So we came to an agreement for $5995 , they also added in freight costs, doc, and set up charges on the invoice. Out the door costs with taxes and everything equals $6623 OTD. So what do you think I should do, tell him to get bent and find a better deal ? We came to agreement due to the travel costs for me to go pick it up. Anyone know a dealer thats close in my area that is willing to deal and not give a run around ? Or do you think he is honest and thats a fair price. Good or bad let me know.

EDIT: I am willing to travel to save some money up to 400 miles if needed. Let me know my paperwork is going to be final by today or tomorrow. Help me out guys.

Is kentucky a title state. (Do you have to pay sale tax at the tag office even if you buy out of state)
allot of states do not require titles, hince buying out of state gives you the tax advantage since it seams every state in the union has a differnt idea of what an atv is or is classified. I know if I buy in OK or MO or AR and since KS does not require a title that = no tax. However if I buy one in KS they are like televisions or anyother taxable goods you pay the regular sales tax at the point of sale. So if you can get the machine for 5600.00 OTD which I am sure is not below cost, maybe close to it but not below it. vs 6623.00 OTD I would tell them to get bent, and make the trip out of priciple, if not a 1000.00 bucks. Its still a 4500.00 machine the day you take it home no matter where you buy it. It sonds like its about 500 miles away, round trip at 1000 miles if your truck averages 15mpg your looking at around 70 gallons tops at 3.00 a gallon total fuel costing around 210-240 and a hotel costing around 70 bucks. I would guess you have around 300.00 or so in expenses to consider but that leaves you still 700.00 in your pocket if you don't have to tag it. Now if you do have to pay the sales tax on it when you get home that will be a differn't story you were saying that added about 600.00 to the sale price at your local dealer so then you are looking at 900.00 vs 1000.00 and for a 100.00 I would buy it local and try harder to get them to drop the BS frt. and setup fee's since they are foney as can be anyway, most dealers will drop them when push comes to shove or I bet there is a dealer closer buy that would match the 5995.00 and not add the other fee's.

Well Kentucky is a Taxable Title state 6% and the titling is in the 50 dollar area something the dealer left off, the dealer is located in Evansville IN( IN sales tax 5%) and thats what they are charging me 5%. Only closest kawi dealer in my neck of woods without driving 50+miles. And only way to deal with anyone else is if I drive there, over the phone to a dealer is a tire kicker. 5995 vs 5600 was not OTD the $5600 + will be charged WI sales tax and I would have to pay the 50 something dollar title costs in KY. If I compare without the 300 + in setup, freight charges and doc. Thats in the 6300 OTD price and really Im confused this might be the 2006 instead of the 2005. Due to the fact thats what they quoted on the price paperwork was a 2006 as the MSRP. BTW cc1999 I can drive and make it to Kansas in about 4 - 5 hours if you know a good place to buy . My truck gets 16 city and 18 highway if I dont mash the gas. So if I deduct the 300 other costs, yes I am paying maybe a hundred or 2 more and staying local. Im going to tell the dealer Im not buying the other charges and if they dont knock them off poof Im gone. Ill take my business elsewhere. Let me know what you guys think if I should stick with the local dealer or look for something in other neck of the woods. Thanks 468 <----confused if he is buying a 2005 for a 2006 price!!

EDIT: Here's how I broke this down. 5600 plus either WI Taxes and KY Titling and 300 in trip costs will equal the same if not more. Now if I buy it there and have to pay the KY title and taxes with trip costs I would save about 1-200 bucks. Thats only if the dealer knocks off the mis. charges !! And Ill have to make sure its a 2006 or a 2005 ! Either way do you guys think Im getting raped or what ?
