So I went on a trip and had a great time. 115 miles of fun. Anyhow, i hade 1 slight problem. IN the moring after riding for about 30 mins, i stopped to put my atv in revers from low and i found it really hard. It just wanted to stay in gear and it would move if i left it there. After forcing it into reverse and getting out of the tight situation i was in i forced it into neutral from low and turned it off. Wiggled the lever that connects the shifter to the cvt and turned it back on and no problems. By the way, there really wasnt anyplay in the lever. Then later in the evening i was putting it into low from high and found it tough and it wanted to move in gear. Turned it off and messed around with the gears for a bit untill it went back to working fine and it worked great the rest of the time. What could be the problem.

I suppose you already checked the motor mount bolts, failure of metal materials around the bolts?

 

I'm guessing it is either too high a idle, ( could be too high a rpm for a smooth shift if the choke was still on also ) or loose / worn motor mounts, as KAWIYOWEE replyed...
