Called the dealership today to see where I am on the waiting list...turns out that they only did 5 or 6 recalls in the past month (since I first signed up for the recall waiting list). The really bad news is that I'm currently #87 on the list! At this rate, it could be over a year before they get to my quad!

I called other dealers in my area last month and this particular one seemed to be the quickest (unfortunately, they didn't tell me what # I was on the waiting list when I signed up and gave me the impression it could be weeks instead of months)...now I'm pissed b/c I don't really want to go another year or more without racing/riding my quad. I know I can continue to check for play in the knuckles/ball joints, but that don't comfort me much b/c I use my quad primarily for XC racing.

Sorry, just had to get that off my chest! I know that Kaw. has a huge number of recall kits to produce for old and new quads, but I still feel like Kaw. is letting me down right now (its ridiculous for me to wait a year for the recall parts and I'm recommended by the dealer to NOT ride/race my quad until its done).

I just got my letter today. Since it seems like there is a parts availability problem, I may just get the parts from Diamond G racing based on info from another thread.

It'll cost me $$, but better than having a bad crash.

Try another dealer. I took mine to a closer dealer. It wasn't even where I bought it from. The asked for the vin # and had the parts within one week. This was 2 weeks ago also. The parts must be available for this to happen.

 

I hate to say it but the aiting list is bs i finally had my 700's recall done yesterday my cousin was no.2 on the list i was no 7 he has yet to get a call the only reason i got mine done quicker is because i stopped in and kept hounding them 2-3 times a week since i got my letter it also helps if you need something else done i needed a front seal and an actuator put on all under warranty so they got a little more money out of kawi that way hope you get your call soon the new parts make a big difference in handling

Man do I feel lucky.I stopped at my dealer (not the one I bought it from) the day I got the letter to get on the "list".I got in right away and he was also delivering another one while I was there.I even have a buddie with a TP that got his done pretty quick but at another dealer just south of Indy here.
I would ride it.......mine had absolutely no play in it and I even pondered not even fooling with it since I was most like going to trade it in a year or so but heck now that I basically have a rebuilt front end I may keep her a little longer.

This is frustrating. I called the dealer by me the day after I received the notice back in June or July. He put me on the list. I have been calling numerous times and I keep hearing the same thing....we haven't got any in yet and we are not sure when we will be getting them. I called in September to see where I am on the list and they said that I am the second one now so the next shipment they would call me. They told me two weeks ago that they were going to be getting some in last week. I called today and they told me that they haven't got any in yet and don't know when the next ones are coming in.

So, I called Kawasaki and spoke to them. They said that each dealership has a list of when and how many parts they are getting in but they can't tell the consumer what the dates or how many. Why not???
She was able to tell me though that the dealer close to me, which is First Quality Sales in Ohio, has gotten two shipments this month. What is going on here???? Seems to me that since Kawasaki won't say when or how many units they are sending to the dealer and the dealer seems to be lying to me that something is going on.

I am seriously thinking about trading in my P700 and getting another brand. This is the worst service I think I have ever seen. Just wanted to vent.

MOST dealers, I'm amazed to find out, are eager to work with a customer.

 

I'm with kodiak1 "keep bugging them" and tell them you use it to race, thats what I did and got mine done within 3 weeks.It was'nt the dealer I bought it from either.

 

Mikey...this is BS! I couldn't imagine still not having the recall done. It bugged the sheet out of me everytime I rode. Kawi is really making themselves look bad.

Give Metro Motorcycle and ATV a call and see if they have the recall kits. I don't know where in Ohio you are, but a trip (or two) towards Cleveland might be worth it if Metro has em. When I had mine done it sounded like they had a few more left. It's worth a shot.

 

I called my dealer yesterday, they told me they have a bunch of parts coming in Mon - that I can bring in mine on Wed.
I wasn't put on a wait list or anything like that.
