2003 650 prarie

Default 2003 650 prarie

hey everyone i have a 2003 p650 some mods it has been jetted,the diamond g module and intake snorkel,exhaust, this is all done in shortly after i got it , always ran good well now all the sudden it won't run changed the plugs, it will start but only with the choke on and wont run over 15 seconds if i give it any gass it backfires or just dies but wills tart right back up and idle for a few seconds and die again

any ideas

sounds like you got trash in your carbs restricting fuel flow. try to run some really good carb cleaner through it and if that doesn't work then you'll probably have to pull your carbs and clean them out real good. Also check all fuel lines and your fuel pump for pressure. You probably already checked but make sure your fuel petcock is turned completely on.

hey thanks but i have checked and double checked even pulled out the pump and made sure it worked in and out of the tank checked all the vents and lines
next i think i willpull out the carbs but it will start and run if you hold the throttle in but any more than 1/2 in it starts backfiring and shooting flames out the muffler adny more ideas

I would still bet it's a fuel problem. sounds like you got the right game plan, for me it's just a pain to deal with the carbs. from the way it sounds you are still not getting enough fuel hope you can find and fix the problem. I had this happen to me once I let my dad borrow my wheeler and he put gas from a "clean" gas can in it. I had trash all in both carbs and it basicly ran like crap. After it was all said and done I put in an extra fuel filter to stop any more problems they are alot easier to change than your carbs are to clean. so far, knock on wood, I havent had any more trouble.
