Default What can I get out of this machine.

Hi all. Just want a opinion of what I can get of of this machine. I live in Washington state, the demand for atv's is pretty good.
I want to sell this machine and get a newer one. I have had it for about 8 years and ridden it about 12 times, I have put less than 100 miles on it since I have owned it. Some may ask why? MY friends all said back in 1997 hey lets get atv's and go riding. So I did that and they didnt. So I had no one to go with. Now I have a new set of friends that actually have ATV's and go riding and now want a new machine.

Heres the specs on the machine I am selling.

1986 Kawasaki Bayou 300
Klf-300-A
2 wheel drive with a differencial lockin.
Owners manual and Clymer repair manual.
New battery.
Winch mount included. I kept the Warn winch for the new machine.
All Racks have been repainted.
Plastic has 2 small cracks in it, been repaired with epoxt to keep them from cracking.
New half shaft in the rear ( previous owner said he put one in)
Engine runs strong. Puffs a tinge of blue when throttled hard.
Rebuilt carb.
Gas tank liner put in. (The tank was rusting out inside, it has been acid bathed and relined)
Tires are about 50%
Aux lights installed.
Engine is tight, no leaks.
Always garaged by me. Never put outside ever.
Machine has a muffler, relacing the gasket at the time.
Machine is immaculate.

NADA books it at $650.00 Kellet blue book books it at $1400.00. We all know that isnt real world. The local paper has a bunch of atv's mostly at 5k and above. If the pricing on a older machine is around 2500 is is useally around a 1991 model.

I have been told to ask $2500.00 for it by my friends who are big into 4wheeling. I was thinking of starting at $1500.00 but decided to start at $2100.00 firm. I dont want to go to low and screw myself but I dont want to ask too much either.

What is your opinion? What would you do here?
Heres some pics..
Thanks alot guys.

That type of utility machine with only a 2 wheel drive is not in a great demand.

One thing it would have going for it if it still works is the unlocking rear axle which would be easy on the turf and I wish my utility quads had this feature sometimes.

Looking at the pictures it looks really nice for a 20 year old machine but if you can get any where near $1500 I would be smiling as the new owner takes it away.

pretty good condition yea, but i couldnt see 2500.
i could see asking like 1,100 and taking like 1000-900 bucks for it.

if it was an trx250r or lt250r all stock, all orginal, less than 100 miles, good condition like that one,
then it would be worth some cash since, they are not mass-produced anymore, and haven't been for quite some time.

so ya, right around one thousand dollars, i'd say. here in michigan at least.

Not sure what youd get for it in Washington, but seeing how I could get a 2006 KLF 250 Bayou for about 2900 OTD , I would say youd never get $2100 for a 20 year old bike around here or anywhere for that matter, no matter how good of shape its in. Figure the 2006 250 prob has alot better power and all around riding advantages ( comfort etc.) than the 20 year old 300, Ide give ya $500 for it, and only after I test road it. That thing does look really clean though for 20 years. Asking $2500 is outright ridiculous when like i said the 2006 250 is only 2900 OTD, 20 years newer with a warranty.

Kawasaki made this machine (300) up until a couple of years ago almost unchanged.
