Default KFX 700 Dual Exhaust Red Hot Please Help!

Hi I have a 2004 700 V Force. I have had my Dual Pro Circuits, K&N, and Jet Kit on for over a year now. I have ridden my bike before at night but never noticed this problem until today. It has been cold (40degrees) outside and I just was putting around the yard for about 5 minutes (the fan had not even came on yet). I was only riding about 3-5 mph with my finger hardly touching the throttle. Something told me to look down at the engine and I noticed a slight red glow from both the exhaust manifolds. I never noticed this before but since it was dark it was easy to see. After this I rode it around a little faster hoping the circulation would cool it down. The red glow from both pipes got brighter and farther back. I immediately shut the bike off. Is this normal? I think I’m running way to lean, but I was not even driving it hard at all and it was not even fully warmed up. I have noticed on colder days until it gets fully warm there is a putting/ coughing sound coming from the Air Cleaner at very low speeds (high speeds it goes away). I have put the correct jets in for my 1,000 sea level. But I did lean the needles one notch because the factory setting there would be a mid range miss while accelerating. What should I do? Could I have damaged the engine?

Thanks!!
Brian.

Try putting 150/155 mains in there and put your needles back to stock.

I'd got out half a turn on each screw, a full turn may be too much.
