Default KFX700 plow and bigger tires?

I know a while back some people had pics of a KFX700 with a plow on it. Or does anyone still have one? How's that thing work in the snow? I know my 86 Bayou 300 plowed great and it was only 2wd, but it did have a unlocking rear end, which made it easy to turn, so i'm wondering if the solid axle will cause it to want to go straight too much instead of turning; but i'm guessing with the weight of a plow on the front end, the wheels will turn pretty easily. Any thoughts ? Trading in or selling the 700 doesn't seem to be a ideal thing since you lose your **** on them in trade, if they'll take them; and then i'd lose my **** again on initial loss of value again. and since i can buy a plow and take that to the next quad if i wanted too and all i'd have to buy is a mounting plate, i'm thinking a plow might work out allright. Would it help to change clutch spring to help reduce any possible slippage of the belt? Any recommendation?

Also, what's the biggest size tires anyones seen on a KFX700? i saw a pic online with one with 26" mudlites i think it said. pretty cool, but not if the rear end compressed at all.

Thanks for your inputs...

I have a 2005 KFX700 with the CycleCountry plow system. Cyclecountry sells the only plow mount kit for the KFX700. With the Stock clutch spring it plows great, no belt sliping. I have the Maxxis All Tracks on it now. 22-11-10 but measures close to 23". The lugs are pretty tall on them. I have heard when you go to 26" in the rear the heal guards get in the way.

Yeah, I am getting the plow system from UPS today. tonight i'll try installing it. i'm planning on putting the front shocks on their stiffest setting, and maybe lowering the air pressure on the rear tires. I'm also taking the suggestion of removing the brake engagement while shifting bolt. I'm still running stock tires since i've only rode it 10 hours tops in 2+ years. Do you got any pics or suggestions for me?

thanks Dave..

Well, plow's installed and works really good. I'm actually very inpressed with how well it manuevers and plows. I'll see what happens when we get more than 4" of snow. Maybe a 4x4 would be better for 12+ inches of snow, but for anything less, i think this setup will work great. By the way, i haven't seen any other quad that can pull a wheelie with a plow on it....lmao pretty cool.

also removed the bolt that prevents going into reverse without the brake on, makes it alot nicer plowing for sure.

also, lubing the cables sure help alot with smoothness of the brakes, shifting of the gear,e tc.

It sounds like you are on the right track!
If you need a more traction, your best bet is chains on the rear--will make a BIG difference.

That's something that I would never do. Have you ever seen what leaking battery acid can do?

Yes I have but I would not place it in the open. I have battery bags that take that kind of corrosion. I work in a power plant and we work with some very corrosive chemicals. Battery's are nothing around here. Merry Christmas!!!
