Default burning oil

I have a Brute with about 2500 miles on it and if I do a 75 to 100 mile ride when I get home the oil is so low it doesn't touch the end of the dip stick. I tried to do a search on this forum to see if anyone else has had this problem but the searck comes up with the word "oil" is too short to seark for. Has anyone else here had or heard of the problem of a Brute burning oil or a blown motor? My dealer clains that they contacted Kawasaki and they clain that they haven't hear of anyone else having that problem

Doesn't sound like that would be a wide spread problem without a recall. How much smoke do you see when it's running? Have you checked the radiator to see if it's possibly going into the cooling system? Or it should be leaving a trail of oil. Other than that, it may be the work of Al Qaeda, and that needs to be checked out.

Default burning oil

No smoke, no leak just no oil after a ride. I've heard rummors that some were having blown motor problem. Never been overheated and radiator clean as well as the air filter. I have the extended warranty and the dealer is claiming lack of maintance (they don't want to cover it). The valves are shot and the cylinders are scored. I know the cylinders could be scored because lack of oil because on the last 3 rides the oil was very low by the time I got back. The oil light never can on so it never ran out of oil. The mechanic that is working on it is not the sharpest tool in the box. He keeps telling me the oil light is for temp and not pressure that is why I never seen it on. There was no sign of dirt or dust in the air system beyond the filter and the filter has been maintained better than any other bike in my area so I KNOW it was not dirt.

Good News

Got home last night and there was a message on my answer machine. The dealer said that even though they have no idea what caused the burning oil problem, Kawasaki agreed to warranty the repair as a good faith measure.

Thanks guys for letting me vent my frustrasions. Now I can only hope the repair gets done in a timely manner and done right.
