Default 04 P700 ratcheting noise

My riding buddy has an 04 P700 (2500kms) that has a ratcheting noise coming from it when in motion, sounds like it is coming from the belt area. He has had it to the dealer 3 times now, once they could not reporoduce it, next time they replaced the KEBC motor, and the last time they told him it was the primary clutch cover plate (bearings inside, all 1 unit) which we replaced (at his cost) and it fixed it for about maybe 100 kms now it is back even worse. Dealer is going to look at it again, but anyone have some suggestions or had this problem?

If under power not good.
If off the throttle and slowing below 10mph normal.

How many total miles on quad.
At 4000 miles my 650 Prairie was making a noise and it was worn primary clutch assembly.

It's while on the throttle, at any speed, cruising at 40 MPH, 10 MPH. We jacked it up so all wheels were off the ground and it still did it. Very odd. Has 1700 miles roughly.

No a good sound, if under warranty let dealer fix, or find one that will.

Check drive clutch for wear, might just be worn out springs. EPI recomends replacement every year due to springs being under pressure all the time.
