Default My 06 KFX400 questions

Alright I just bought my first quad and its prolly the best 5200 bucks i've spent. Im not out to dump a crap load of money in this thing but i'd like to change a few things. First off....whats the way to go with a slip on exhaust?? Im lookin at the white brothers e-series, but any help would be more than welcome. And how about some blue and black graphics cauze i wanna go with the team green with blue but im thinking im gonna have to get some custom made....Third, if i do go with the WB exhaust or any exhaust...will i need to rejet? Any info on getting a lil more power out of my bike by replacing this or that would be appriecated.... THanks Justin

First, I would say dump and flush the coolant that came with it. Put in evans waterless coolant, I had a 06 dvx 400 and got rid of it because the coolant it having a reaction with the magnesium engine covers it is posted all over the suzuki forum and all 05 and 06 have this problem, Mine was built in october and I opened up the cover and it was corroding badly in the water passages, if it corrodes through oil will enter engine, as for pipes and stuff I dont know I didnt have my long enough to find out, Sorry to be a buzz kill but I dont want to see anyone else get screwed with this problem, Suzuki is going to have big problems in the future with there sport quads if they dont fix this, Doug

I have a couple buddies with Z/KFX 400's and they all love their HMF pipe. As far as rejetting, I highly recommend getting more fuel in there whenever adding a pipe whether it's a full system or just a slip on. So, yes you should rejet.

So this is your first quad ever and you already feel you need more power? I think there might be something wrong here. I can see if you've been riding for years and you know how to ride the **** out of it and wanna get more power. I would recommend driving it before you start dumping money into it.

I would definately go with HMF. I got their dual system on my V-Force and I love it. I noticed a big power difference. Of course you won't notice too much of a power difference with just a slip on. I would rejet too. Don't buy a jet kit, its worthless. Just go up one or two sizes on the main jet. Another cheap power gain is a K&N with one of those K&N filter charger airfilter lid. The one that has the build in airfilter in the lid.

Its my first quad that i've owned myself. I know how to ride and i've been riding for awhile. Im not saying i wanna go all out on this...i got a car that does that with to much money in it as it is. I just wanna beef up the exhaust to get some throaty noise and maybe a lil power replacing a filter or any other little things i can throw at it.
