Oil and filter
Hi guys i'm working on my 2004 700 Prairie ... I am going to run amsoil in the machine ... since the engine dose not have a enternal wet clutch I would assume that there full syn 10w-40 would be fine and there would be no need to by the motorcycle vershion .
I am trying to find a better than stock oil filter ... I do not want to run a fram ... there filters are crap .
I will go back to the factory filter or I will consider a remote filter set up .
If any or you guys are using any of these I would like to hear from you .
Thanks
Greg

Oil and filter
Synthetic oil is fine, I ran 5/50 Castrol syntec in my 650P from 300 miles until 4K miles when I sold it. Never used any oil.
Wix makes a filter that works on the 700, don't know the number off hand. Go to Nyroc's info web page and under Prairie you can find oil filter numbers.
Also, Your are correct, no internal clutches.

Oil and filter
when i was looking into oils/filters for my Harley i found that K&N oil filters are among the best you can get. they one of the smallest micron size mesh, highest crud capacity, and the bypass pressure is highest of anything else i could get. i do not reccomend their air filters unless all you want is high flow, but their oil filters are best quality.
the part number that fits my Brute is kn-204

Oil and filter
Sox, when you order your amsoil oil, just get one of their filters too. They have a good quality oil filter for about 8 bucks I think when you are a preffered customer, which will cost you 10 bucks for 6 months. I have been running amsoil 10W-40 and the SMF-103 oil filter on my Brute and I am very happy with them. Good luck
